MODELING

Generation and simulation of assembly operations during the design phase of mechanical products Nicolas REJNERI

What is the aim of the project ?

The project is able to perform a semi-automatic assembly sequence generation process and analysis both from geometric and technological points of views.

Input data are a geometric description of each component and its contacts with the others. The assembly component mobility are modeled as effective translations, rotations or helical movements. In order to reduce the algorithm complexity of assembly sequences generation, simple and minimal technological data, attached to components and contacts, are taken into account and allow to create subsets of components for reducing their number.

Assembly sequence planning is then determined using an objective function based on geometrical and technological criteria for the evaluation, the elimination and the selection of removable components.

A path planning module is used to extract a component in a constrained environment and to validate the generated sequences.
